Beer filtration is used in industrial brewing and is used to extend the shelf life of the product.

 

Beer is filtered from residues of yeast and bacterial cells, suspended particles, various mutating impurities. In this case, the use of kieselguhr filters, filter presses, separators, as well as cartridges (cartridges) are used.

 

Unfiltered beer is stored only a few days, filtered on a kieselguhr filter - from 5 to 20 days, which has passed additional filtering (control) filtration on cartridges - from 30 to 90 days.

TRAP-filtration of beer, clarification.

 

Trap filtration after the kieselguhr filter is a system that does not use a filter press, in which the filtration is carried out in a closed housing with minimal loss of carbon dioxide and prevents the contact of beer with air, preserving the taste of the drink. At the same time, product losses and labor intensity of the process are significantly reduced. This method is widely used in the West and in Russia (including large beer corporations). It allows you to significantly reduce the cost of consumables (in comparison with the filter card) and the costs associated with product losses. The system as a rule consists of a filter holder (see below) with a set of cartridge filter elements.
